Zero Waste - For a Low Carbon Future
#CLOSETHELOOPTHE FUTURE OF MANUFACTURING IS SUSTAINABLE
At Seco Tools, we believe that everyone can help when it comes to slowing down the detrimental effects we are having on our planet, both at home and in business. We try to recycle as much raw material as possible, reduce our carbon footprint and increase the efficiency of our manufacturing processes. Rather than rely entirely on mining virgin material, Seco reduces its impact on the environment by recycling used materials. The powder created by the recycling process (provided to Seco by certified recycling companies) has the same properties and qualities as virgin powder.

TIPS FOR RECYCLING AT HOME
START SMALL
With the proper know-how and a little education, recycling has never been easier. It all starts with small steps every day that can lead to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. Here are some tips and tricks that can help you learn more about recycling.
Learn what can be recycled:
It is important to learn what can and cannot be recycled, but with so many different types of materials out there, it can become overwhelming to remember all the rules. But practice makes perfect so with time, recycling will become second nature.
Cardboard & Paper:
All different types of paper are recyclable, such a flyers, books, and magazines. Cardboard can be recycled if it is not saturated with food and grease, so an Amazon box can work, but a pizza box probably won’t work. If there is a paper or cardboard piece with a waxy finish, avoid recycling that.
Plastic:
Most plastics can be recycled, always check the bottom of the package for the number and you can use online resources to see how to recycle it. Unfortunately, many disposable utensils cannot be included because of the low-quality blend of plastics used. If it is possible to crumple the plastic, do not include it in your recycling bin.
Aluminum:
Great news is that basically all aluminum can be recycled! First, please rinse out liquids, which helps avoid an onslaught of bugs to the area.
Tip: You can crush the cans if you are tight on space!
Glass:
Most glass containers cannot be recycled as it’s not possible to recycle glass once it's shattered.
Other tips & tricks:
Have more than just one bin
Keep recycling bins in various rooms in your house, not just in the kitchen. We often have paper or cardboard that can be recycled in offices, bathrooms, and bedrooms. By encouraging this behavior all over the house, it becomes easier to recycle in your every day life.
Water Recycling
Water recycling can be easier than you might have thought. Did you know that you can use the water from your cooked pasta or steamed vegetable to water your flowers? If it was used for a single purpose, it can go to good use elsewhere in the house or in the flower beds.
Food Recycling
An average of nearly 20 pounds of food is wasted each month per person (Source: United Nations Environment Programme). However, composting at home is a simple and easy way to help reduce food waste! If you don’t want to purchase a bin, you can make your own simply with various how-to videos online. You can also check online, if your city offers pick-ups for organic waste.
Tip: To reduce the smell, stick with plant-based items and get a lid!
